Resources for Teachers & Students
Many teachers have started using online tools to make the process of sharing information easier with students as well as many web-based tools to bring some fun into the classes and make the communication with students and their parents more effective. Likewise for students it is a dream to be able to do more work in a shorter amount of time, which then enables them to have more free time for social and recreational activities. We’ve compiled a list of some of the most useful technological tools which can be used by both teachers and students to advance learning techniques, enhance teaching productivity, bridge academic challenges and help improve classroom relationships.
4Teachers.org also offers very targeted advice and solutions. The Assign-a-Day software helps teachers communicate with students who miss class, while a program called Think Tank helps students develop a Research Organizer (a list of topics and subtopics) for reports and projects. Be forewarned, a trip to this online teaching tool could last all day — there’s so much there!
Evernote is a great, free resource that allows you to easily capture information using whatever device or operating system you use. It then makes this information accessible and searchable from anywhere. including all your lesson plans, resources, web clippings, lesson schedule, meeting notes, misc. notes, task lists, reference materials and much more. You can then access your notes anywhere and can even share notes with others. Students can use Evernote to take notes in class, share notes with other students, capture notes off of a whiteboard or poster using their smartphone camera, and much more. Evernote's Education Page is also a great resource.
