Youth leadership coaching and mentoring

Inspiring young people and inculcating moral regeneration are key components of the MCCDO community development objectives. The MCCDO  hopes to help revive the Scouting and Cubs movement activities in the Kokstad region and so has partnered with the Kokstad Girl/Boy Scouts and is using its framework to engage and develop young leaders who are self-reliant, self-disciplined, self-confident and have self-respect.

Through programs like Scouting camps, Farming for the future,  restarting the acclaimed "Mount Currie Toughie" obstacle course / trail race and arranging hikes in nature to study the fauna and flora. The MCCDO and Kokstad Scouts will also among other things, involve the youth in the greening of public spaces, establishing regenerative community gardens, help clean up Kokstad's rivers and protect the natural environment all key objectives highlighted in the ISDP (Kokstad Integrated Sustainable Development Plan). It is important to instill a sense of citizenship and community responsibility in the young people while having constructive fun. The MCCDO Centre is also a tremendous resource for the young people to come and network, learn and engage with inspiring and innovative people, ideas and activities from around the world....The MCCDO is helping nurture tomorrow's leaders.

The MCCDO organises a variety of Youth Camps with Leadership Development Activities.
